Dim Sum & Then Some – The Uptown 5k

Dim Sum & Then Some - The Uptown 5k

Please join the Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) this June for the second annual "Dim Sum and Then Some: The Uptown 5K!"

This isn’t your typical run, get a shirt, and go home type of race. The Dim Sum & Then Some is the only 5K running through Uptown and Chicago’s only race where runners are treated with dim sum after the run!

In 2017, over 400 runners joined for the first ever “Dim Sum & Then Some: The Uptown 5K!” Swarms of runners descended upon one of Chicago’s most ethnically diverse neighborhoods - Uptown. Renowned for its historical theaters, unique music scene and Asian influence, runners traversed through both the streets and Chicago's scenic lakefront.

And what better way to cap off a run through Uptown than by eating some dim sum?! Each runner will receive their own dim sum box compliments of one of Uptown's famous restaurants, Furama. Additional free goodies will be given on race day!

Highlights

Each timed runner will receive a dri-fit technical running shirt

The Dim Sum & Then Some is the only 5k race that runs through the neighborhood of Uptown

Runners will be cheered on with entertainment throughout the race course, including CMAA’s Lion dancers

Every registered runner will receive a dim sum box compliments of Furama restaurant (Vegetarian options are available. Dim sum items subject to change)

Other free goodies courtesy of local Uptown businesses.
