The Admiral at the Lake

Our Mission:
We are a non-profit, our Foundation has a history of serving Chicago for over 160 years. Our values connect us and define our vision.  We believe in ageless spirits and in abundant living. We believe in continuing the legacy of our charitable purpose by responding to the evolving needs both inside and beyond our four walls. We believe in the importance of inclusivity and in the power of an engaged and expansive community. We believe that every person has something to contribute and that we can accomplish far more together.

Our Story
We are guided by values, not profit. Founded in 1858, The Admiral Foundation is Chicago’s oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to senior living, using innovative and responsive solutions that address the needs of all Chicago area seniors. We have a long history of seniors of all faiths and nationalities. Drawing its name from the historic hotel that once occupied the corner of Foster Avenue and Marine Drive on the border of Chicago’s Edgewater and Uptown neighborhoods, The Admiral at the Lake is situated in one of the most culturally stimulating and diverse communities in the United States.
