Tai Chi
This course series offers hands-on instruction in a small group setting for the first third of Yang style Tai Chi. The shortened thirty-seven-posture form is ideal for busy lifestyles, taking only about ten minutes to perform. The instructor will present the general history, meaning, and philosophy of Tai Chi and its place in Chinese culture. Each class will cover a new set of postures and a thorough review of the postures already introduced. In this way, students develop an intimate familiarity with the Tai Chi form through repetition and corrections by the instructor and can continue a dedicated, independent, and life-long practice. Yang Style Tai Chi places emphasis on principles, body mechanics, and the resulting health benefits including stress reduction and improved range of motion, coordination, balance, energy & concentration.
