Each year, the Uptown Special Service Area (SSA) sponsors several community events throughout the neighborhood. In 2017, the SSA-funded program assisted many community events, big and small, in all parts of Uptown. The Community Events Grant supports eligible events that can demonstrate a measurable benefit to fostering the community’s growth and development. Any business, organization, or individual that will be programming an event within the SSA is eligible to apply, with preference given to businesses, organizations, and individuals that reside within the district. Events must be free and open to the public, and grants must be approved prior to the event.
