The 2nd Annual Uptown Art Week will feature over 150 pieces of public art including more than 40 new works going up on walls around the neighborhood, art exhibits being hosted by local businesses, live paintings, and interactive art activities for all ages.  You can use our interactive map below to do a self-guided tour around Uptown and to locate a variety of Uptown business activations.  Each stop on the map is complete with photos and information which you can find by clicking on each icon.

Join Uptown United & Chicago Market on Sunday, August 8 from 10:00am - 4:00pm for the one-day Uptown Art Fair as part of this year's week-long event!  Local artists will set-up booths to display and sell their artwork.  The fair will take place inside the Chicago Market at 4620 N Broadway (corner of Wilson & Broadway).

As the class aligns breath & movement while wearing colored ribbons on their limbs, their yogic flow will be traced by the artist with acrylic paint on transparent canvas. Following the movement of one limb & respective color at a time, & then layering each together, this live-painting yoga practice creates a piece of artwork that embodies collective motion, captured.   Join yoga instructor Cindy Huston (Yoga Body Elements) and local visual artist, Morgan Murphy (the northern loon)  for this interactive session on Wednesday, August 11 at 5:30 p.m. (CT) and Saturday, August 14 at 10 a.m. (CT) at Sheridan Lot, 4009 N Sheridan.

Fat Miilk, a direct trade Vietnamese specialty coffee company, will be popping-up at New Orleans Seafood on August 14th from 11AM-4PM. HAIBAYÔ will be providing the beats. Stop by for artisanal Vietnamese coffee, Vietnamese style Cajun seafood boil, and live music. Be sure to check out live painting murals along Argyle St. that weekend too!

Cornerstone Community Outreach is hosting youth art and activities from 1pm to 3pm including a visit by the Bezazian Library Biblio Bike which will be offering book giveaways + kid-friendly art activities including sidewalk chalk and a "Create Your Own Mural" activity using the Crayola Airbrush and markers.  And in preparation for Back To School for the children staying at Cornerstone, we are accepting new school supplies and backpacks. And to support the parents and other adults, we are accepting new linens and hygiene supplies. Feel free to come by!
